The nearest railway station to Bharmour is Pathankot Railway Station (PTK), located about 180 km away. It is a major railhead in Punjab and is well-connected to Delhi, Chandigarh, Amritsar, and other parts of India by frequent trains. From Pathankot, you can reach Bharmour by taxi or HRTC bus via Chamba.
The nearest airport is Gaggal Airport (DHM), also known as Kangra Airport, situated near Dharamshala, approximately 185 km from Bharmour. It operates direct flights from Delhi and occasional services from Chandigarh. After landing at Gaggal, you can hire a taxi or take a connecting bus via Chamba to Bharmour.
The journey from Delhi to Bharmour covers about 650 km and can be completed in around 16–18 hours, depending on your chosen mode of travel.
Take an overnight train from Delhi to Pathankot, which is the most convenient railhead for Bharmour. Direct trains such as Jammu Mail, Dhauladhar Express, and Shri Shakti Express run daily and take approximately 9–10 hours to reach Pathankot. Once in Pathankot, you can hire a taxi or board an HRTC bus to Bharmour via Chamba. The road journey takes another 6–7 hours.

The drive is long and tiring, especially after Pathankot when the terrain becomes hilly and winding. Total travel time is around 14–16 hours. This route is scenic but should be avoided at night for safety.
Book a direct flight from Delhi to Gaggal Airport (Dharamshala). From there, hire a taxi to Bharmour via Chamba, which will take around 6–7 hours to cover 180–190 km.
Bharmour is approximately 420 km from Chandigarh and can be reached by road or a combination of train and taxi.

This scenic journey through Punjab and Himachal takes around 12–13 hours. It is recommended to start early in the morning to reach Bharmour before dark due to sharp turns and hilly terrain near Chamba.
There is no direct train from Chandigarh to Bharmour. However, you can board a train from Chandigarh to Pathankot, which takes around 5–6 hours. From Pathankot, proceed by taxi or bus to Chamba and then to Bharmour.
Limited direct flights are available from Chandigarh to Gaggal Airport. If you find one, this is a great time-saving option. From Gaggal, take a cab or bus to Chamba and then Bharmour.
The distance between Amritsar and Bharmour is about 310 km, and the best way to reach is via Pathankot.
Several trains connect Amritsar to Pathankot, taking around 3 hours. After reaching Pathankot, hire a taxi or take a bus via Banikhet and Chamba to reach Bharmour in another 6–7 hours.
A direct road journey from Amritsar to Bharmour takes about 9–10 hours. The preferred route is: Amritsar → Gurdaspur → Pathankot → Banikhet → Chamba → Bharmour
This route includes both plain and hilly terrains, so it’s advisable to travel during the day for safety and better visibility.
Pathankot serves as the primary transit hub for reaching Bharmour. The distance is around 180 km, and it takes approximately 6–7 hours to reach Bharmour by road.
Taxis are easily available outside Pathankot Railway Station and Bus Stand. You can hire a private cab or share with other travelers. The route is: Pathankot → Banikhet → Chamba → Bharmour
The roads are in decent condition till Chamba, and after that, the road narrows and becomes steep.
HRTC runs frequent buses from Pathankot to Chamba. From Chamba, board a connecting bus or shared taxi to Bharmour. The last bus from Chamba to Bharmour usually leaves by 4:00 PM, so plan your arrival in Chamba accordingly. Bus journeys are affordable but take longer due to frequent stops and road conditions.
Pathankot: Plenty of hotels near the railway station (budget to mid-range)
Chamba: Good number of hotels and guesthouses
Bharmour: Limited accommodations, mostly budget lodges, dharamshalas, and a few guesthouses; book in advance during Manimahesh Yatra due to heavy rush in this area during that time
Roads from Chamba to Bharmour are narrow, hilly, and prone to landslides in monsoon. Avoid night travel.
Always carry some cash, as ATMs are limited in Bharmour.
